Weekly Reading Round-Up
First: how is it Friday already? Don’t get me wrong; I’m not complaining. But it feels more like Tuesday, somehow. This week is a bit of a blur.
Which may be why I can’t quite remember what I read this week. I know there were books… but I have no idea what they were.
The one stand-out? Ruth Ware’s In a Dark, Dark Wood, psychological suspense about a hen party gone horribly, horribly wrong. It was one of those “oooh, now I must find her backlist!” books.
What have you been reading this week?
Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly
Ditching Mr Darcy by Samantha Whitman, and Saints for All Occasions
Continuing my Roberta Gellis kick, currently reading Knight’s Honor, and having a *marvelous* time–the court intrigue! the dynastic struggles! the gritty war scenes! the character depth! and, of course, the romance, which seems so realistic to the times in which the books are set–all just superb!
Only one thing could pull me out Gellis’ books right now–and that is A Court of Frost and Starlight, the latest in Sarah J. Maas’ series. Picked it up yesterday and highly anticipating the weekend 🙂
I’m getting ACOFAS today! Can’t wait!
I finished Children of Blood and Bone which was too YA tropey for me, now to go in the EXACT opposite direction, I’m reading Michelle McNamara’s I’ll Be Gone in the Dark about the Golden State Killer.
Just finished RAGTIME by E.L. Doctorow.
Next: either The Tumbling Turner Sisters by Juliette Fay or The Flying Circus by Susan Crandall.
Someone to Care by Mary Balogh
