"The Record Set Right"– On Sale Today!
English can be a silly language sometimes. My new novella, “The Record Set Right” is both on sale today as in “available for purchase” and on sale today as in “less than the expected price”.
“The Record Set Right“, a sort of mini-novel about a woman’s return to England after sixty-odd years and the memories and revelations she faces, was written for an anthology called Fall of Poppies: Stories of Love and the Great War, set around Armistice Day in 1918. The anthology officially releases on March 1, but I was absolutely thrilled when they told me that “Record Set Right” would be released early as a “teaser” for the full anthology.
“The Record Set Right” is one of those stories that took me by surprise. I’d intended to write something entirely different– but Millie’s voice burst onto the page (you’ll see what I mean when you read the story), and the next thing I knew, I was just being taken along for the ride, from 1980 Kenya to England in the teens and then back to 1980 again.
I hope you enjoy the experience as much as I did!
The Record Set Right is on sale today for 99 cents on both Kindle and Nook.
Got yours and pre-ordered Beatriz’s! Day 5 of being snowbound with children, itching for something to do in those rare moments of quiet time, and already read “The Forgotten Room” so this is perfect. Hope you’re enjoying Florida (said with no sarcasm and just a little jealousy. Ok a lot of jealousy)!
Thanks for the info, Lauren – I’m on my way to my Amazon page right now!
Sounds wonderful, hope it becomes a full book one day! I have a hard time with short stories, I get attached to the characters and then it’s all done!
