Cover Reveal: FALL OF POPPIES
What with Lure of the Moonflower launch, I’m a bit late to the game, but… here it is! The cover of the World War I anthology, Fall of Poppies.
Nine authors. Nine novellas. One fateful day in 1918….
I am so very grateful to the wonderful Heather Webb for shepherding this anthology into being– and keeping the rest of us on deadline!
My story went through a few changes along the way. Originally, I’d intended to write about Armistice Day in Kenya in 1918– and, when I stuck on that, an Agatha Christie-ish mystery in a country house in Norfolk involving a man thought to be dead, who unexpectedly returned from the war to find a woman in his home claiming to be his fiancee.
In the end, I wrote neither of those.
As for what I did write…. I’ll have more on that as we get closer to March! Isn’t it a gorgeous cover?
You are such a tease!! Now, how are we supposed to be able to wait until March? 😀
I am sure your story ended up magnificent, just as always…
That mystery sounds really awesome. I can’t wait to see what the actual story is.
This looks like it will be very good reading, Lauren. After my WWI binge last year this will be a late but very welcome addition to my knowledge of the time period.
This will definitely be on my list of must reads.
Can’t wait.
