Compare and Contrast
Looking at the French edition of The Ashford Affair, I was struck by how much the covers vary by country. I’ve lucked out with some extra lovely cover art for Ashford, all around.
Here, for your amusement, is the full panoply of Ashford covers. Which do you like best?
Ashford US, hardcover and paperback:
Germany and France:
Spain and Poland:
Italy and Spain II (Catalan):
(Apologies for the tiny images at the end. I only had smaller jpegs for the Italian and Catalan editions.)
Which is your favorite?
The Ashford Affair comes out in paperback in the US on March 25th (just over a week away!) and in France (as Ashford Park) on May 15th.
And since everything is more fun when you turn it into a contest…
I’ll be giving away a copy of The Ashford Affair paperback to one person who comments on this post. Winner to be announced on Sunday!
My favorite is the US paperback cover – and I’m dying to read it!! Thank you for the chance to win a copy!
They are all beautiful, but I Love the Germany cover.
This one’s tough – they’re all so good, but I think the US paperback cover wins first place with the Germany/France hardcover – those are just so well done, I love them!
I like the cover from Spain. To be honest, none of them really grab me. But the book is great!
Love your books! My favorite covers are the US paperback and Germany/France paperback.
I love the US paperback edition, and the German edition. Being French, I have to say that I like the French cover pretty much, but not as much as my favourite!!
Ashford is really great and I’m really really glad that it will be translated into French!!!!
That French one may be my new favorite of your covers. So pretty!
Us covers
US Hardcover.
Unlike the US hardcover. That just seems like such a Bea pose…
I like. Stupid autocorrect! At least the captcha code worked…
the US paperback
US hardcover, which is good because that’s the one I have!
US Hardcover
I like the Germany and the US paperback. Completely different, but in both there is a sense of expectation and makes you want to pick up the book.
I liked the covers from Spain and Poland!
Germany! I love that pop of color in the car.
I love them all but my favorite is the U.S paperback. It is beautiful!
Love the US paperback edition, just beautiful! Although the Germany edition is very nice as well.
Love the U.S. paperback cover! On the other hand, they’re all great!
I love the US paperback cover. Can’t wait to read this!
The US paperback covers by far the nicest!
I love the US paperback with Germany/France paperback second.
I like the US paperback cover the best. Who knew someone’s backside could look so stunning?
Love them all but the US edition is my favorite. So excited to read it I can hardly wait.
My favourites are the US hardback and the Polish cover. They are so beautiful and immediately give the information that this is a book set in both the 1920s and Africa. It sounds like I must be the only person who doesn’t like the US paperback cover. Oh dear. I just feel that if I knew nothing about it and saw it in a bookshop I would think chick lit and walk straight past. I do have a paperback copy of it but it is a large trade paperback from the UK that has the same cover as the US hardback. I was delighted when I managed to get a one of those.
I love the first Spanish cover. The colours in it are very appealing, making it seem mysterious and intellectual rather than just a regular work of fiction. I would definitely pick this book up in a bookshop.
I prefer the American hardcover – it is very evocative and intriguing. At the moment bookshops seem to be full of books with old houses and the back of females – in period garb – on covers (due to the success of downton abbey?). so something different is good!
I like the French one. Very romantic.
I like either the US hardcover or the Polish cover. Just really like that image and color palette:)
I like the US hardcover, followed by the Polish cover. Very nice imagery.
I said that I like the Polish (which I thought was the French) cover best but, on reflection, I’m not sure that the hairstyle is correct for the period. I like the Spanish cover best.
I can’t decide between the German & French covers. I like all of them, but those two are my favorites.
Germany is gorgeous.
I LOVE The US Hardcover !!!
All of the covers are gorgeous (of course) and strangely cohesive in their artistry! Which I’m not sure was done on purpose or not (probably not), but very cool none the less. Anywho, the original hardcover or the German cover are my favorites.
They are all beautiful, but I love the cover from Italy the most.
