Calling All Contributors!

I thought it might be rather fun to mix it up a bit here on the site and spread our reading net a little bit wider.

(Okay, I’ll stop with the mixed metaphors now.)

Do you have an idea for an If You Like post? Is there a list of books you’d like to share? I’m putting out a call for guest If You Like posts, so if you have an idea, and would like to host If You Like here on the page one Monday, just email me and let me know!

Have you already done an “If You Like” Downton Abbey list?

Ashley, that’s a great idea! I think I might have, but I honestly can’t remember. If you’d like to do one, let me know!

What about a “I don’t usually read this genre” If You Like? I prefer to read Historical Fiction and Historical Romance (or better yet: Historical Romantic Fiction!), but every once in a while I venture into other genres and am sometimes pleasantly surprised. It would be interesting to get some suggestions for: If You Like Historical Romance, read THIS book from THAT genre.

I’m desperately trying to come up with at theme for an If you Like that included Gone With the Windsors by Laurie Graham! Have you read it Lauren? It’s the story of Edward and Mrs Simpson as told by a fictional friend of Wallis – Maybell.

If you haven’t I can strongly recommend it – it’s one of my all time favourites and I think it’s under appreciated! It’s so well written and well researched you start to think that maybe Maybell did exist!

What about biographies? I love, love, love biographies but some are dry as toast and some read like novels…(for the latter, I’m looking at Carolly Erickson)…
