Teaser Tuesday: This and That
As you can probably tell, my brain is a multi-book muddle right now, so this Teaser Tuesday is a collection of upcoming this and that.
The Ashford Affair
Within the next few weeks, I’ll be embarking on a blog tour for Ashford, so if there’s any blog you particularly want me to visit, just let me know! I’ll also be doing one more live event, with the always fabulous Deanna Raybourn, at The Mysterious Bookshop in New York on June 4.

Tomorrow is the first of May, which also means we’re down to just three months before the next Pink Carnation novel, The Passion of the Purple Plumeria
For personal reasons, I won’t be touring at all for Purple Plumeria (there’s a very new small person who’s going to be keeping me at home in August) but there will be signed copies available via The Poisoned Pen bookstore and possibly some Skype events. I’m still working out the details, but I’ll keep you posted as I sort it all out. Since I won’t be able to sign in person, there also will be– and this is the bit I’m really excited about– bookplates with Miss Gwen’s coat of arms on them which I will mail out to anyone who wants one for her copy of The Passion of the Purple Plumeria

Must have bookplate. How old is Miss Gwen anyway? I understand that is a very improper question to ask but it would help me to better picture her. I know she’s younger than me! I’m a baby boomer, so that’s my hint.
Miss Gwen is– give or take a year– around 45.

I vote for Christine’s contest suggestion! Another contest idea could be: Name Miss Gwen’s favorite food! (This is probably my stomach talking) I wold say shepard’s pie decorated with tiny plastic sheep figurines!

Christine’s and Vanessa’s suggestions sound great! I would have thought about what she would name a child, if she had one, but given that she’s in her mid-forties, and not likely to have one…maybe a suggestion of good reading material for her to read next? If I remember correctly, she read The Mysteries of Udolpho, and was working on her own “horrid novel”?

At the risk of stepping over a public-private/professional-personal divide, may I say congratulations on your small-person-to-be, that’s so wonderful! Think of all the great children’s books you’ll now get to revisit… Best wishes to your family!
My suggestion is that you write every word you can now, because once that little one shows up you’ll be distracted, to say the very least. But you’ll never regret it! What marvelous news.
It would fun to hear about books that fellow fans like. You could pick africa or some place interesting that could be the topic of the contest. Then to enter you would need to list one or more books about or from that country.
Or everyone could recommend a good childrens book. This is my first choice. I could make a great big list! Please pick this one it would be fun.
