Thursday Give Away
For today’s Thursday Give Away, we have Lori Wilde’s The Welcome Home Garden Club, the latest in her contemporary romance series set in Twilight Texas.
Here’s the official blurb:
Traditional meaning of Pink and White Roses: I love you still and always will.
Caitlyn Marsh stopped believing in happily-ever-after when high-school sweetheart, Gideon Garza, left for Iraq. Now she raises her small son while her matchmaking gardening club members drive her crazy. Then Caitlyn’s world turns upside-down when Gideon swaggers back to Twilight.
Gideon had left town in the middle of night with threats ringing in his ears. A lot of things have changed since then. This bad boy-turned-Green Beret bears scars from the war, the timid girl he loved is an independent mother, and the father who refused to recognize his son in life has, in death, left him a vast cattle ranch.
He still aches for Caitlyn, and now there’s a dark-haired boy who looks exactly like Gideon did at that age. Could the child be his? And can this war-weary soldier overcome the scars of the past to claim the family he so richly deserves?
The series is loosely enough connected that you don’t have to read the previous books to enjoy this one (although for anyone looking for a Christmas read, you might want to also check out The First Love Cookie Club).
So, for copy of The Welcome Home Garden Club, here’s your question:
What’s your favorite flower?
Winner to be announced on Saturday….
I love asiatic lilies! Especially the reddish-orange ones; those flowers are the epitome of summer for me.
Moonflower! These were my grandmothers favorite as well.
A lily.
Dahlias!
This is a surprisingly hard question! If I have to choose one, I guess I my favorite is lilac
Pink roses. And they must be pink:)
Tulips.
Iris. Especially the purple bearded ones.
Roses are my favorite flower 🙂

I love hydrangeas!
I love irises!
Calla lillies
I know this is going to sound achingly cliche, but my absolute favourite flower is the *red rose!* 🙂 Next in line would be the carnation and birds of paradise! Ironically, as it might appear I picked the carnation out of my love of Ms. Willig’s wicked series, but actually, I was swooning over carnations long before I picked up the Pink Carnation! I’ll simply say, its not just for giving at funerals!
Probably gardenia, because they grow in my grandma’s yard. For a long time when I was younger, I just thought the yard smelled like that because she was my grandmother and therefore her yard smelled magical. It wasn’t until I got older that I actually asked what the scent was.
I really like Gerber Daisies. They just look so fun and happy. I hadn’t even heard of them until I saw them in an episode of the t.v. show Chuck and then all of a sudden they were everywhere.
Roses! More specifically, white rose buds!!! Love them!
I have a soft spot for white and red or pink flowers, too… I saw a picture of white and red tulips a few months ago and I fell in love with them!!
Roses! I absolutely love them, especially antique roses.
Peoniees!
Peonies!
Gardenia!
The scent of gardenias sends me over the moon.
Lilacs!
Roses, especially pink ones!
Roses! Closely followed by sunflowers.
Hydrangeas!
Hard choice – a toss-up between hyacinths and stephanotis (also known as Madagascan Jasmine). They both smell amazing – my mother has some stephanotis in her wedding bouquet.
Violets
Sunflowers are my absolute favorite! I also love Lavender.
Freesias (gorgeous smell) and daffodils (marks the start of spring)
Plain old white and yellow daisies. They are all homey and cheerful and honest.
I have two… the plumeria (since it reminds me of home), and I love, love, love peach roses.
Roses of any kind or color, except the unnatural kind (i.e. purple, green, blue, etc.). I love to dry them after I get them and they start wilting. They keep their scent for a really long time.
Dark Red Rose
Lilacs!
Sunflowers!
Tiger lilies!
