Libraries in the Storm

My friend Annaliza shared with me a link about a library in the Adirondacks that lost almost all of its children’s book collection to Hurricane Irene. You can find out how to help the library rebuild its collection here.

Librarians out there, if you need Pink books to replace books lost in the storm, let me know!

Most city libraries have so many donations they sell or give them away. Just last month the Santa Monica
Public Library gave away carts full of children’s books. I will check with them and Los Angeles Library about donations. If everyone would check with their local libraries I bet the Memorial Library would benefit greatly.

Nice idea. I’ve never thought to do this. However, by the time we’re done reading our children’s books they aren’t in the best condition perhaps. 7 kids at varying stages will do that even when they are trying so hard to be gentle. Now if only I was a library to replace some of my personal lent out copies of Pinks.
