Kindle & Nook!

Anyone who says self-pub is easy is clearly more technologically adept than I am. Having just spent most of yesterday afternoon wrestling with Amazon and B&N’s self-publication systems, I have both good news and bad news.

The good news is that Ivy and Intrigue: A Very Selwick Christmas is available for download on Amazon and B&N, with a very snazzy cover adapted from Joanne Renaud’s Pink Carnation Comics.

I’ve also uploaded Away in a Manger: A Very Turnip Wedding Night, with the gorgeous cover created for it by Joyce, on both Amazon and B&N.

This is where we get to the bad news, which is that neither platform allows authors to post free downloads. Ivy & Intrigue will be 99 cents for download, and, as always, free here on the website, via the Diversions page.

Likewise, Turnip’s bonus chapter is also up for 99 cents, but I’d like to emphasize that it remains free in PDF and ePub form via Smart Bitches. Within the next month or so, I’ll be adding a permanent link to the PDF on the Diversions page, under Free Reads.

Happy reading!

Thank you Lauren. I didn’t realize that there were Pink Carnation Comics. When I get home from work, I’m going to read that wedding night story.

Honestly, I prefer the convenience of being able to download from Amazon and the price is still very reasonable. Thanks for making the stories available!

I’ve made the mistake of paying more than that for a bad story, so I think it’s a reasonable price for the download.
Thank you so much for making these available!

I’ve made the mistake of paying more than that for a bad story, so I think it’s a good price for something I already know is fantastic!
Thank you so much for making these available!

    Hi Lauren!!!
Is there any website where we can still find the Pink Carnation comics? I can’t seen to find them on amazon, so maybe they’re not available anymore…

Hi, Celine! They were never full comic books– just three scenes from Pink I that Joanne illustrated for me. You can find them by clicking on the individual entries here: https://laurenwillig.com/news/category/pink-comics/

As of next month, I’ll have all three scenes up on the Diversions page.

Just to note, Smart Bitches are also hosting the mobi version (used for Kindle), so Kindle and Nook (which reads ePub) users can still acquire Turnip’s chapter for free. 🙂 Only difference is that users must load the file onto the device themselves, instead of having Amazon/B&N work their magic. Very easy to do. I can even post/email instructions if anyone needs.

And Lauren, thanks so much for not only writing these wonderful tidbits for us, but for offering them for free in various formats. Though they are definitely worth spending 99 cents! Turnip’s chapter was so very, well, Turnip; I loved it. Looking forward to reading Ivy & Intrigue this week. 🙂
