Pop Goes the Turnip
It’s been a while since we’ve played around with casting… but I was at the gym recently and ran into Turnip Fitzhugh (hero of the upcoming Mischief of the Mistletoe!). Being Turnip, I found him in a very unlikely place: in an 80’s music video called Pop Goes the World.
My image of Turnip? The lead singer from Men Without Hats.
Someone else just told me that she saw Turnip as a young Robert Redford.
How do you picture Turnip?
Your pic of Redford is exactly how I imagine Turnip! Expression and all! Perfect.
I like the Robert Redford pic for him better. I just can’t get past the 80s video garb on the first guy.
I think Robert Redford fits the bill for Turnip
I see Turnip, 100% as Young Sherlock Holmes himself, Nicholas Rowe, yum! But picking leadbing men for 80s bands is great too!
Okay, I’ve pictured one guy in my head for Turnip forever.. Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He’s an awesome actor, has no problem playing a goof when required.
I like young Robert Redford and Joseph Gordon-Levitt but I always pictured Charlie Hunnam, the guy who played Nicolas Nickleby.
Uhhh, I pictured David Spade or Dominic Monaghan
Carole: no way…LOL…
For general cluelessness & friendly disposition, I keep picturing the guy who played Bertie Wooster on the BBC. Like a big friendly dog. (I want to say Hugh Laurie???)
… would that make Arabella into Jeeves?
I don’t have a specific celeb in mind, but the pics you posted are not at all how I pictured Turnip.
Raelyn – my boys ::heart:: Charlie Hunnam for his role on Sons of Anarchy. They cringe at the thought that he’s really British, tho. haha. I actually see him more in the role of Robert.
For some reason I picture him to be someone like George on Grey’s Anatomy.
Yvette, that’s who my little sister picked, too! Hugh Laurie as Bertie Wooster.
Anne K, I agree– that expression is classic Turnip. Shades of “huh?”
For expressions and behavior, Bertie Wooster would be perfect. But for some reason I always imagined Turnip having red hair, maybe kind of Rupert Grint-looking? (except he’s probably too young…)
