Austen at the Morgan

For those Jane-ites in New York or passing through, the Morgan Library has an excellent exhibit up right now on Jane Austen called “A Woman’s Wit: Jane Austen’s Life and Legacy”. You can read the New York Times review here. The exhibit went up this past week and runs through March 14th. For those who can’t make it to the show, there’s a film up on the Morgan website as well as some selected images from the exhibition.

I’m particularly thrilled because I just finished doing some heavy duty Austen research for one of the Pink books (hint: Austen, Bath, Turnip Fitzhugh, much hilarity.) More on that later….

    1) Thank goodness for Veterans Day — I’m going to the Morgan tomorrow! I’ve been so excited to see this exhibit.

    2) Jane and Turnip in the same sentence? You just about made my day! 😀

This is all just too much for me! I don’t know which has me more excited, Jane at the Morgan or Turnip in Bath, which is one of my very favorite places! I’m already laughing just thinking of the possibilities.

OOO more Turnip? Can’t wait. He is by far my favorite background character. He is always there when you least expect him.

What an education your website is! I loved the part in the Jane video where someone says, “in writing we are constantly concealing and disclosing ourselves.” So true!
