Mr. Hastings, meet Miss Austen

The 18th century is a very small place. I’ve just posted on History Hoydens about the strange intersection between Warren Hastings, the controversial Governor-General of India (how many men can boast of being impeached by the Crown and prosecuted by none other than Edmund Burke?) and everyone’s favorite proto-romance novelist, Miss Jane Austen.

The reason I’m tracking Hastings and Austen connections? Well, you all know that Blood Lily is set in India. What I haven’t announced yet is that the following book involves Jane Austen…. I’ll be posting more on that in February!

Do you mean that the next book in the series features Jane Austen, or is she in another book entirely? Either way, it’s exciting!

Funny how history intersects, though! Who would have ever thought?

After reading your blog post on this, I have to admit I’m a little bit way over excitied about a book set in Bath…
