NIGHT JASMINE is a New York Times Bestseller!!!

It’s true! It’s true! Thanks to you! (Honestly, I didn’t mean to make that rhyme. It just happened. As Sir Percy Blakeney would say, “You are a poet, and you did not know it!”).

Anyway, thanks to you, The Temptation of the Night Jasmine is #19 on the New York Times Bestseller List for February 8th. I’ve included the pdf of the list below.

Pretty cool, no? The February 8th list counts book sales for the week ending January 24th– which means that Night Jasmine was a bestseller two days after it came out. Eeeeee!!!!! (That was a very loud squealing noise, by the way. A few more exclamation marks, and they would have heard it in Canada.)

I wanted to thank you all, so much, for making this happen. Thank you for caring about my characters as much as I do and for making their stories come alive by reading them. And for giving me an excuse to drink champagne on a Wednesday night.

As a side note, I will confess that I do have my occasional Eloise moments…. Tonight was one of them. After jumping up and down and squealing and calling about fifty friends, I decided to head over to my parents’ for a celebratory dinner. In my happy haze, I got on a subway going downtown instead of uptown. I was so busy exuding joy and cheer (i.e. beaming maniacally enough to cause people to edge subtly away from me) that it took thirty blocks before I realized I was going in the wrong direction! Ooops.

Oh that’s Wonderful!!! I don’t blame you for being excited I would be ecstatic!!!! And as far as directions go I’m sadly always like Eloise, in fact I may be worse.

Yeah, congratulations!!! 🙂 Heck, I love these characters so it’s always great to re/visit them. . . and hope you had a great celebration. . . and I probably would go the wrong way too — even if I wasn’t beaming in happiness along the way too! 🙂

I really can’t say I’m surprised!!! You deserve it, congratulations. You’ve built a following by writing amazing books that DON’T fall into normal traps just to wring more drama out of it. The characters are believable, none of them is a caricature (even Frobisher or Turnip).

We all have our Eloise moments…mine came at O’Hare airport when we had a very tight connection and I put us on the people mover toward the parking lot, instead of the next terminal. I *had* just gotten off a flight from London…I’m sure I’ve had a few in the subway as well!

Oh my! That is some very very cool news!! Congrats on the milestone!

And there are somethings that are more important than going in the right direction, like thinking about how much you’ve done to get to this point.

Congrats again, that is such an awesome list to be on. 🙂

I find it kind of ironic that a book called “Agincourt” came in at number four. If we read it, will we find Charlotte and Robert’s ancestors, do you think?
    ;O)

That’s wonderful! Although, I am not surprised at all. Your characters like Jessica S. says are believable, but beyond that they touch us. I see my friends and myself in them. Thank you for writing.

Congratulations! I really enjoyed the book. Your characters are so easy to identify with. It always feels like I am right there with them when I read your books. I can’t wait for the next book. When will you be able to provide some news about that? I hope we don’t have to wait another year for the next installment. Thanks again for being so entertaining.
