In the Meantime….

For those who are interested in a wee dram of procrastination, I posted today on History Hoydens about Bonnie Prince Charlie, and more specifically on whether or not he deserves that oh so bonnie reputation he has managed to carry down with him through the ages. (Check out the comments section for a discussion of Jacobite propaganda and, yes, merchandising).

Bonnie Prince Charlie does come up in The Seduction of the Crimson Rose, so it’s not entirely unrelated to Crimson Rose Book Club (I do love putting that in bold!). But, for those of you who haven’t read the book yet, I’m not saying any more on that front until January….

Happy Wednesday!

    That was really interesting info!

On an unrelated note, I think it would be absolutely amazing if Lauren’s books were rendered (albeit faithfully) to the big screen someday. Have you ever considered screenwriting, Lauren? I know I’d be one of the first in line to buy a movie ticket!

I agree with Catherine! And being a modern-day author, you’d be alive and present to not, er, roll in your grave as they attempt to perpetrate indignities on the books.

Although this brings us back to the question of who plays Vaughn. (COUGHJackDavenportpleaseCOUGH)

I popped over to catch up on what’s been going on… Looking forward to the new book next month! (And I’m all for Catherine’s film idea. Get writing, Lauren! 🙂

Wishing you and wonderful holiday season and all the best in 2009.

I am almost always interested in procrastination. It’s my favorite. The information was interesting. I even looked up more information on the Glorious Revolution after reading what you had posted. Happy holidays everyone!

Every time I click on your homepage and I see this title, “In the meantime,” the song “In the meantime/and between time/Ain’t we got fun?” starts running through my head…

    Just thought I would share!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Bonnie Prince Charlie, I had to learn about him in Primary. Mostly because I’m Scottish and it’s compulsory. Very interesting though.

Looking forward to January, Lauren. In the meantime I hope you have a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

I absolutely love your books Ms. Willig, although I must say that I prefer to imagine your characters and not have them ruined by the film industry.
Can’t wait till January, a little disappointed that I couldn’t get an ARC.
    Have a wonderful New Year!!
