Weekly Reading Round-Up

Is it embarrassing to admit that I don’t remember what I’ve been reading this week?

I know I read one of Margery Allingham’s Campion books, Dancers in Mourning, in which Campion is drawn into the tangled lives of a theatrical troupe, but beyond that it’s all rather a blur of Thanksgiving prep.

Right now, I’ve moved on to my seasonal reading, starting with Trisha Ashley’s The Christmas Invitation (a new to me Trisha Ashley Christmas book!  Huzzah!), which has all my favorite Christmas book elements: a snowed in English manor house with eccentric side characters, plenty of descriptions of food, and a mystery from the past.  I’m hoping there’ll also be Morris dancers or mumming, but I haven’t got that far yet.

What have you been reading this week?

Finished the 5th of Robert Galbraith’s Cormoran Strike books, Troubled Blood, which was fabulous!! The Fairies Queen quotations heading each chapter were marvelous. Already can’t wait for the next!
Also read Mimi Matthews latest, Gentleman Jim, another great historical romance by Matthews (Regency setting this time).
Rounding it off was latest by Donna Andrews, The Gift of the Magpie, for some holiday fun 🙂
Now reading the final entry (sad face) for Bernard Cornwell’s Uhtred of Bebbanburg, Warlord, which is great so far!

Devoured Tasha’s new book, The Dark Heart of Venice, I was able to keep reading despite a food coma almost setting in from Thanksgiving it’s that good! Now I’m reading The Black God’s Drum a short alternative history for book club, then I’m hoping to hit the holiday reads…
