Weekly Reading Round-Up
Hello from the train to DC! I’m headed to historical fiction nirvana: the Historical Novel Society Conference where well over a hundred historical fiction authors are gathering to talk shop and share their favorite gossip from centuries past.
It only seems appropriate to read some historical fiction on the way to HNS, so I’m currently blazing through Ellen Alpsten’s Tsarina, about the Empress Catherine, a peasant who captivated Peter the Great and rose to rule Russia.
What are you reading this week?
I’m reading your book The English Wife!
Yay!! Enjoy!
Another Charles Todd Ian Rutledge book.
I’m reading The Summer Country and loving it so far!
Reading Megan Frampton’s Never a Bride. But also listening to Summer Country on Audible!!!
I read the stories in Brief Cases by Jim Butcher that I hadn’t already read in anthologies, then read The October Man by Ben Aaronovitch, and now I’m reading A Duke in Disguise by Cat Sebastian.
I just finished Murder At The Brightwell by Ashlley Weaver. A series set in early 1930’s England about Amory and Milo Ames who are wealthy and fashionable amateur sleuths. I enjoyed the first in this series very much.
I’m reading Alison Weir’s The Marriage Game, the sequel to the Lady Elizabeth; the two are novelizations of Queen Elizabeth’s 1’s life. Very interesting! I’m also reading J.K. Rowling’s screenplay for the second Fantastic Beasts movie, and I’m loving it.
