THE SUMMER COUNTRY Tour!

Mark your calendars for The Summer Country Tour!

I’ll be trotting around from place to place this summer to celebrate the release of The Summer Country (and doing some Skype-Ins to book clubs!  There’s a sweepstakes going right now where you can win copies for your book club and an author Skype-In).

This list is incomplete– events are still being added– but, as of now, I’ll be in: Georgia, Wisconsin, Illinois, Arizona, Maryland, Connecticut, and New York.  Unless otherwise specified as a ticketed event, events are free and open to the public.

If you’d like a signed copy, but can’t make it to an event, just contact FoxTale Book Shoppe, where they’ll send you not just a signed copy, but also a snazzy bookmark with palm tree charm.

And, as always, I’m very happy to send you a signed bookplate to paste into your copy!

Sounds great, but too far east for my limited travel budget. Are you going to visit California? How about somewhere in the San Francisco Bay area? Maybe even in San Jose? (Hint, hint!) We have lots of readers … bookstores … universities … and even libraries! Please???

Hopefully one of these days! Possibly in a few years? So, there are really two reasons I tend not to make it that far west…. One is that when publishers do book tours, they try to maximize the events to get the most bang for their buck, so it’s cheaper not to send authors too far afield. You get more events in for less money staying in a smaller radius. The other is totally the fault of my having two small people under the age of five. It’s kind of a nightmare arranging childcare for long tours (think military operation planning), so I try to keep the long flights to a minimum. But someday they’ll be older (theoretically? I’ve been told they become self-sufficient at some point? possibly in their thirties?) and when that happens, I’ll be able do longer haul tours– and I’m way overdue for a swing around the West Coast!
