Cast That Turnip: Part II
So many thanks to everyone who contributed to the effort to Cast That Turnip! Thanks to you, we have an embarrassment of Turnips. (Which, I believe, is the correct term for a group of Turnip Fitzhughs.)
The winner of the Cast That Turnip contest, chosen at random, is… Lauren H! (Of Comment 19.2)
Congrats, Lauren! If you let me know where to send it, I’ll put your Mistletoe in the mail to you.
In the meantime, the Turnip casting fun continues. Since some of these actors’ names were new to me, I started looking them up. And once I was looking them up, it was a short step from that to compiling a gallery of Turnips….
Enjoy!

Did I leave anybody out? And which of these looks the most Turnip-y to you? On pure looks, I might have to go with James Norton. Although the cravat does give him an unfair advantage….
Arnie hammer!
Kyle Soller. Turnip has to be British. Handsome but able to play someone who could be dorky enough to be called a Turnip. Dan Stevens could NEVER be called a Turnip! Oh, but you should consider Dan Stevens for another part. He is yummy!!
Kyle Soller is American.
I had not realized that! 🙂 Well he has lived over there for years and looks the part.
James Norton- hands down! Right combo of stunning goodnlooks but even just in this picture, you can tell he has the depth to play a kind hearted (somewhat) bufoon.
James Norton
Gah! If James Norton is the best Turnip, I might have a new favorite Pink Carnation character! Several of my favorites made the short list, as well.
Yay! I’m glad my last-minute guy made it. And I’m especially glad to see others agree with the oh-so-dreamy James Norton 🙂
James Norton or Kyle Soller.
James Norton. Love him in the current show in which he plays a pastor.
See, I want James Norton as Miles… and Tom Mison is obviously Augustus… though Kyle Soller would be interesting, esp. because I don’t think many people realize he’s American.
Now, seeing their faces, I’m thinking Armie Hammer as well.
James Norton, hands down. This picture of him is definitely a Turnip!
Love him in Grantchester!
I’ve had the hots for James Norton for years. He is definitely my celebrity cheat.
I have a hard time seeing him as Turnip, but if he can play a vicar and a murdering psychopath (Happy Valley) convincingly, I suppose he could do justice to Turnip. 🙂
