Jane Austen Short Story Contest

Just in time for Jane Austen’s birthday on Thursday (happy 235th, Jane!), Austenprose has announced the Jane Austen Made Me Do It short story contest.

As some of you may know, I have a short story, “A Night at Northanger” coming out this summer, in an anthology edited by Laurel Ann of Austenprose. What you may not know is that there’s an open space in that anthology– possibly for you!

Details and rules and those other useful things can be found on Austenprose. Short version? Manuscripts should be roughly 5000 words in length and must be submitted between January 1st and February 13th (so get writing!). The grand prize winner will receive $500 and publication in the anthology. Here’s the caveat: entrants must be previously unpublished residents of the U.S. over the age of eighteen.

You can find the official contest page here.

Good luck!!
