Chicago in November

This just in. I’ll be having two events in the Chicago area in November to celebrate the launch of Turnip’s book, The Mischief of the Mistletoe:

November 15, 7:00
Wheaton, IL
Borders
101 Rice Lake Square

November 16, 6:00
Chicago, IL
Newberry Library Bookstore
60 West Walton Street

Since I’ll be there a couple of days, any recommendations of favorite sights, places, and eateries in Chicago are much appreciated!

I LOVE Chicago! We were there for our anniversary last year. I know it’s kitchsy and touristy, but lunch at the restaurant in Hancock Tower was pretty good. The view is great and food isn’t bad. Also, the Four Seasons spa is spectacular.

I am very excited you are coming to Chicago. I love my town. You should go to Millennium park and see the bean. The Art Institute is amazing. Michigan Avenue has wonderful shopping.

Food: You must have a chicago hot dog and go to Gino’s East and have deep dish pizza.

Oh yes, Art Institute is a must! Also, even if it’s Novemeber, go to Navy Pier, there’s a stained glass museum that is just amazing.

Oh, also for book freaks there’s Bookman’s Alley in Evanston, mentioned in The Time Traveller’s Wife. A bookstore not to be missed. The nearby Amaranth is also suitably awesome and a little better priced.
