The Titles with the Mostest

Hi, all! Sorry for being somewhat AWOL recently…. I’m in the final throes of writing Pink VII, so my brain has been elsewhere. Two hundred and six years elsewhere, for the most part.

I have, however, finally totted up the votes for the multiplicity of title suggestions you so generously provided for Pink VII (which I am getting very bored with calling Pink VII). It was a bit of a challenge, with so many, but I went over the results a few times to try to make sure I hadn’t dropped or double-counted votes. Here’s what I came out with:

In third place:

The Ordeal of the Clandestine Nightshade (Liz, #133)
The Guise of the Fleur de Lis (Veronica, #96)

In second place:

The Ruse of the Silver Thistle (Robyn, #157)

And the number one title:

The Persuasion of the Pale Magnolia (Diya, with a nod to Devan)

Congrats, Liz, Veronica, Robyn, Diya and Devan! I owe you all advance copies, as soon as there are advance copies to be had.

Title deliberations are still ongoing, but I’ll let you all know as soon as we settle on a final version!

Out of those four, my favorite is The Guise of the Fleur de Lis.

I like them all. Congrats you guys!

  3. Elizabeth aka Miss Eliza on March 30, 2010 at 3:31 pm

Congrats! Can’t wait to see what it actually ends up being!

I love the title::The Persuasion of the Pale Magnolia

I like the names. I think I read a murder mystery where the someone was poisoned with nightshade. Actually more than Agatha Christie story/novel uses it I believe.

Nice titles! Amazing what a group-brain-storming-session can produce! In my humble opinion, “Persuasion” even stands a decent chance of being approved by publishers. It fits in with the beginnings of the rest of the titles. Like Secret, Masque, Deception, Seduction, Temptation, and Betrayal, the word Persuasion calls up all sorts of interesting mental pictures.

Fabulous…can’t wait to see what Pink VII is finally titled! I love all the winners.

I really like the winner and the runners-up! Congratulations

PS…hehe for short, one can call Pink VII
    “persuasion” Tis very Austen-esque I think 🙂

  9. Diya on March 30, 2010 at 4:51 pm

Yay!!! Thats so exciting I can’t wait to read it! I’d have to say that after mine I like the Fleur de Lis second best =)

Can’t wait to hear what you choose!

  10. Diya on March 30, 2010 at 4:52 pm

I know! I really like the beginning “persuasion” for that reason I reminds me of Austen’s genteel sass!

  11. Devan on March 30, 2010 at 5:30 pm

I’m so excited. Yay! I can’t wait to read the rest of it. Congrats to everyone else. There were so many amazing titles. Thanks everyone for voting! I would love to see #1 be the title, but my second pick out of the top runners would be Fleur de Lis.

Congrats to everyone who made the Final 4!! LoL. March Madness indeed. 😉

I must say I am partial to both magnolias and thistles, as both those flowers appeared in my wedding bouquet, so I will be happy no matter what if one of those two is chosen! And I think Persuasion, Ruse, and Guile are all wonderful “beginning” words and no matter what Pink VII is finally called, all those words should be kept in mind for future Pinks!

So, when do we vote for the final, or is the winner already picked?
