Dr. Johnson famously opined that when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life. Much as I esteem both Dr. Johnson and the city he held so dear, I occasionally get bored with Almack’s Assembly Rooms, which may be why my characters wander all the way to India in The Betrayal of the Blood Lily.
So, without further ado, here’s this week’s question:
If you had your pick of anywhere in the world, where would you like to see a Pink book set?
One person will be selected at random to receive an ARC of The Betrayal of the Blood Lily.
The winner will be announced next Tuesday….
p.s. if anyone is curious about in India in 1804, you can find a partial list of my sources via the Diversions page.
Rome or somewhere in Asia
On an excavation in Egypt!
Definitely somewhere in Italy! Florence, perhaps.
It would be interesting to see one set in the “New World” though not necessarily the United States. Africa would also be interesting.
I would love to see a book set in Sicily. Beautiful villas in the mountains, great desserts, roman ruins…
I would love to see it in the colonies. I think it would be interesting.
haha since you’ve already taken one of my top places I’d personally like to visit (Ireland!) I’d say it would be neat for it to be set in either China or Japan.
I think of the Pink series as being so staunchly English that it would be a bit of a turn around for them to be placed in something that exotic and foreign then what they’re used to! (which is what I’m also hoping for in the Blood Lily!)
Turkey! Istanbul is an incredible city.
Oh yes, Egypt! The Frenchies did have some time there! Napoleon, loved his ancient Egyptian ruins!
Ooooh I’d love to see them go to Russia. Such a rich culture and they’re bound to have issues there!!
China! Just as exotic as India, and just as rich in culture. Plus, lots of involvement from the British East India Company in the trade. Just a short hop from India really…besides, how would the Brits react in a world where their culture isn’t the oldest?
Or America. I always thought Ms. Gwen’s view of America to be quite funny. Besides, it being just before the War of 1812 means some fun tensions between the British and English. And a big potential for spying.
i think I’d definitely have to say America. I think there’s just so much potential for plots there (both sinister & story wise!)
I mean, if you’ve got Jane trying to help the British get back into power, the reader will want to sympathies with her but obviously, patriotism will win out. It could be very interesting.
I would say Venice, Ireland, or Norway
oooooh Italy definitely!!! i would say or Australia, but that’s not the right time frame… oh well! Italy would be quite amazing!!!
The first thing that popped up in my mind was to go to Casablanca, Morroco. I know corny….
Somewhere in North America – it would be fascinating to see the lead-up to the war of 1812 from an English spy’s perspective. Although Casablanca does sound very romantic!
Italy or back in France.
Definitely somewhere in North America…with all the British ships running up and down the coast at that time, trying to enforce America’s neutrality and trade restrictions, there’s plenty of smuggling action and skullduggery to be had. 🙂
i remember portugal was mentioned in an earlier book as the setting of one of the pink carnation’s triumphs – i’d love to hear how that played out!
I’d love to see a book set in Athens, or maybe Istanbul (or is it Constantinople? ;D). Where there’s ancient ruins, there’s always some fun and mystery to be had!
America! I think it would be great to see Jane interact with some patriots!
Somewhere “on the continent”. Perhaps someone who is taking their “grand tour”?
Destinations on that included:
-The Swiss Alps
Lots of possibilites for mischeif there! 🙂
italy or america!!
I think Poland would be a great destination, it’s a country full of amazing history, great culture and amazing food!
You can never go wrong with France. However, India would be interesting as well.
Italy is so exciting and romantic, I would love to see a book set there, both the historical and the contemporary part of the novel. Thanks for the great reads!
I think Scotland would be by first choice followed by Italy and then Eqypt.
Italy is romantic and exciting, lots of art and culture. It would be a great place for both the historical and contemporary characters to explore. Thanks for the great reads!
I would love to see a pink book set in russia a little war and peace action could be nice i bet amy and richard would love to race hen and miles on sledges.
As a dedicated Francophile, my top place is Paris, which has already been featured (and villainized). Ireland and India are my top “to-visit” places, and you hit those. So I’ll agree about Italy, since I love what little I’ve seen of it and can’t wait to explore the rest of it.
Somewhere in Italy would be lovely, perhaps Florence or Venice…very romantic settings and wonderful art that could be explored!
I think Canada would be great! Lots of options for specific locations – Maritimes (Nova Scotia), Quebec City, Southern Ontario (Toronto has some great sites), Vancouver/Victoria BC. You could still have the Anglo/Franco conflict. Canada was a good spot for a spy to hide, plus there’s a lot Canadian history (not commonly known in the rest of the world) that could be worked into the plot.
I would love to see it in Russia or Denmark…
I’d say either Egypt or Italy (preferably Florence or Venice)!
I would love to see a pink book in Russia.
I would love to see a book set in the “West Indies”, though Egypt would be fantastic too. The “West Indies” would fit with the time period and have a suitably colonial feel without having Jane meddle in the War of 1812 or some such nonsense. Also, it may give Eloise and Colin a chance to take a trip together…
I’m seeing a lot of “Italy”s and “Egypt”s and I’ve got to say, I’m really liking these ideas, though, I think I’d go with America. I’d really like to see how Jane would handle herself in that situation.
The Orient, Austria or America.
hum…Alexander I really didn’t like Napoleon…something in Russia could be quite interesting, but 1804 might be a bit early for that…
Savannah or Charleston
I’d love to say someplace really exotic (like the moon :)), but I think I’ll have to join the chorus for Italy – Venice, Tuscany, Rome, Florence, Sicily… the places are incredible and the people are pretty special too!
Venice because I can just imagine what a wonderful story you can set amongst the dark pathways and open piazzas of the city. Today’s Venice still retains so much of its vibrancy that has drawn visitors for hundreds of years that it wouldn’t be hard for Eloise and Colin to wander the same areas of the city of your historical characters.
I would love to hear about how the Pink Carnation and associates handle Napoleon’s siege of Spain and Portugal. Wouldn’t it be great to find out whether Pink et al. helped the colorful Portuguese royal family (Maria, by then insane, the feeble minded John VI, and the very outspoken Carlotta Joaquina) flee to Brazil in 1807? The royal family fled under cover of night, with the king disguised as a woman. Britain urged them to do so, and even offered an escort of British ships… To me that sounds like a plot right out of a Pink book.
I definitely would love to see a book set in or a side trip to Italy: Florence, Rome, Venice, etc…
America! So much drama, intrigue and (as one person stated earlier)”skullduggery”!
I would have to say either Russia or Constantinople. So many opportunities, plus I love the history from both those places.
I’d like to see the Pink Carnation go to Spain. Napoleon’s brother was made the king of Spain…
i totally meant to say son not brother. my fingers just decided to type what they wanted
Spain or the Caribbean. Something to do with pirates. Could you just imagine one of the debutants having to survive on the high seas with some dangerous and dashing pirate! It would be fantastic!
Scotland. Talk about roughish men! Yummy!
Somewhere along the Mediterranean.
Australia! I know it was basically a large holding cell for prisoners… but I’m sure one of our flowery friends would need to dredge information from a desperate criminal or-huzzah!- save a wrongly accused one 🙂
I also like the ‘high seas’ and Italy ideas…
It’s not very far but I’d have to say Scotland as well. 🙂
I like the idea of the Americas as well.
Okay, I’m so not a historian, so I have no idea where it could be historically accurate. So, going off what I do know, I’m thinking St. Petersburg. I love the old stories of czars and Russia in general with all of it cultural history.
Venice! I can just see espionage happening in boats while on the canals! Well, espionage or something else… 🙂
Greece! Characters can explore a little classicism 🙂
I’d have to say Ireland, Greece, Or Italy. They are all beautiful and fascinating places.
Can you just write a Pink book for all the places people have suggested? Please?
My vote would be New Orleans and surrounding areas. I think there is a lot of potential for a great story – you’ve got the french quarter, the garden distract, swamps, plantations, the pirates Lafitte, voodoo, a hurricane. It would be the perfect place for a french spy to be, and for one of the Pink Carnation’s associates to foil their plot.
I’d love to see them thwarting French spies in the Caribbean (and falling in love in the tropical climate).
I’m all for Spain! Just think of the possibilities, maybe there’s even a determined Spanish spy around.:)
Russia or Egypt!
So many places to consider, but here are a few:
China – spies sneaking around the Forbidden City would be pretty cool
I’d like to see one set in Russia as well, though I’m not sure I could say why. 🙂
Italy – Venice or Naples. You could have some fine skullduggery in the twisted canals of Venice of the newly discovered ruins of Pompeii near Naples.
Since you’re taking the series to India already (and that would be my #1 choice) maybe America or Canada. French Canada would be interesting. Or Italy. 😉
A deserted Island or some other wilderness location.
How about a book set in Austria. Because Marie-Antoinette is from Austria and maybe Aimee could appeal to the royal family about restoring the monarchy in France.
Italy would be an amazing location. My second choice would be Wurttemberg, Germany where King George III’s daughter Royal married the Duke, later King who helped Napoleon.
Definetley somewhere exotic and wild (at least considered wild during that time period), like Australia or New Zealand. South America would be nice, too.
Of course, a book set in outer space could be an intresting read as well.
Kathleen, the idea of “Pink in Space!” absolutely cracked me up– wouldn’t that make a hilarious spoof?
Either the Colonies or Germany or Russia 😀
Anywhere you put them it’s always a great story! 🙂
I would like to see a novel set in Spain.
Vienna or St Petersburg would be so romantic.
Italy! Rome, Florence and Venice are all so romantic!
So many great choices already mentioned. I would like to add my vote in favor of Scotland (perhaps some Gretna Green action?), Russia, and Egypt. Although, Lauren’s characters MAKE whatever location there are in – so you can’t go wrong with any spot!
My votes go to the America’s yes could be quite good. Spain there’s got to be some good things going on. And then there’s Egypt. Those are my top three. Thanks for holding these contests.
I would love to see the characters traipising through America or Canada, maybe because of international spy rings heading out to infiltrate the colonies. Very rustic and romantic and dangerous and man against the wild.
As much as I love Italy and think Russia would be interesting, I would enjoy seeing Pink in Austria. The early 1800’s are interesting because they are fighting Napoleon, the Holy Roman Empire ends, the Ausrian Empire starts (and there could also be agents from Russia “Francis II did not abandon a possibility of revenge on France and therefore he entered into a secret military agreement with the Russian Empire in November 1804.” That seems very interesting :-D)
I’d vote for Russia, the West Indies (since Josephine is from there), or if enough time passes in the books – Elba. I’d like to see Jane trying to stop an escape.
America would be very interesting. Other than that I would like to see Russia or Italy.
Germany or Austria. It would be easy to do too with all the fighting Napoleon did there.
Vienna would be a great selection to set a novel in. Britian had close ties to the Hapsburg Family. Britian also maintained an embassy in the city.
The Spanish Riding Academy with its historic ties to the Horses being the pride of Austria.
The other point being the coffee houses of Vienna being a base to springboard off of which all levels of society visited.
I’m for Portugal/Brazil and possibly Russia…also Germany could be interesting 🙂 Also love Italy, but mostly love everyone’s suggestions!!
I know this isn’t what you are asking, but- please oh please don’t do one set in America!! One of the things I love best about your books is that it uses members of the ton for almost all of the major and minor charcters. I just can’t see that many of them in America for any reason.
Because of this, I’d love to see one set anywhere in contential Europe.
I know you weren’t asking about England- but I can’t help but wonder if you’re going to set one in either Bath or Brighton.
I’m going to narrow down all my thoughts to two countries: Germany or Russia. And both of these were under attack by Napoleon at some point of time, so they could fit into the story line.
I think the next pink book should be in Brazil because the Portuguese royal family is staying in Brazil during the Napoleanic Wars. Maybe Jane can stir up some trouble in Latin America.
australia! and the penal colonies!
Although the Swiss Alps would be an incredible and exciting setting, my vote is for Venice, Italy. Venice is absolutely beautiful and romantic, perfect for the time period! It also has plenty of dark alleyways, winding streets, and watery canals for the dashing escapade or two 🙂
As much as I would love to see a book set somewhere else in Europe or in Asia. I think probably one of the best places historically to set a book would be the Australian penal colonies, since there was a series of insurrections by the Irish sent there. Including a big rebellion in 1804.
I would love to see something set in Greece! But I also like the idea of Egypt and Russia. Actually I like all of the place mentioned!
I don’t really have a specific preference (although I would prefer not China, Japan, or Africa), but I do like the idea of Venice or Egypt 🙂
A walled city in Italy…Bologna, perhaps?
Well, we do need a visit to England once in a while, but for outside that, always been a huge fan of Ancient Egypt, and that definitely gets a boost from Napoleon around this time, so that would be a biggie! 🙂
Egypt!!! The arabic culture is fascinating! And, what better place to have the setting of a historical fiction novel than in a place with probably the oldest history itself!
Agreeing with #47, the Peninsula. Getting Villeneuve out to fight Nelson was the Pink Carnation’s work, wasn’t it?
I’d like to see an adventure somewhere in the Mediterranean. Maybe in Greece?
Didn’t Amy refer to the “wilds of America” at one point….
Or Australia would be a riot!
I would love to see a Middle Eastern setting. Egypt, Morocco, Turkey!
very tough call… one of my favorite things about the books is that they are set in England, but there’s Colin and Eloise for that. I think Rome or anywhere in Italy. Although, there are some terrific suggestions on here – like Spain and the Caribbean!
Since we’ve already had Ireland, I’ll say Egypt.
Tuscany! That just sounds so perfect for some of your characters…
I think a Pink book should be set in Williamsburg, Virginia because there were many conspiracies taking place there during the early 1800s, which tied into both the British and French wars for Empire. Williamsburg, as a city, has always had strong ties to important events in American and British History. There was of course the War of 1812 with Great Britain that links the story back to the characters in the original books. Meanwhile, the 20th century American story could also be tied in that way.
Other Cities or places for a Pink book could be Nan Ning, southern capital of China, or Tokyo, Japan. During the early 1800s, the Japanese government sent educated families from Japan to the US to settle there. Debate has been raised as to whether these families were sent as spies or merely to relieve overcrowding in certain areas of the Japanese islands. Nonetheless, the Japanese government worked hard to attract very well mannered and educated men and their families as recruits. This differed from other immigrant groups.
Anywhere a Pink book is set, consider me on board for the read!
China! I think the culture is facinating. Italy would be fun too!
Ooh, so many good choices in this thread!
My first gut response to the question was “Ooh, Scotland!”, but America has a lot of potential, too. I think the above commenter who suggested New Orleans is on to something.
I think the following would be amazing locations:
Venice – perfect setting for intrigue, murder and espionage (some of it even sanctioned by the government at various periods)
Istanbul – such a rich culture, a meeting of East and West and the mystery of the Sultan’s harem
Vienna – because I am just enamored with the city
I would love to see a Pink book take place in Venice! It’s mysterious and darkly romantic!
Ireland was one of my top choices, and that is one of my favorites of the series. So now…I think that Italy would be fun, or Egypt, as others have said.
in 1803, Britain declares war on France after Napoleon Bonaparte continues interfering in Italy & Switzerland. Italy or Switzerland would be fun!
I’d love to see a Pink Novel set in:
– South America
These locations have always fascinated me, and I can just imagine what fun the Pink Gang would have in these places! 🙂
Venice or Africa or Turkey -they sound like great locations for the characters
Adding another vote for Russia!
Ooohhh! Russia, definitely. I think a court intrigue in St. Petersburg!
If by ‘anywhere’ you mean a place, and a place could also be a time, then I would choose the present so that Eloise and Colin could have their very own Pink escapade.
However, if that is not acceptable, then I shall cast my vote for Australia, where no one can be trusted, and everyone is suspect.
Oh, so many wonderful choices! To name a few: America, Greece, Scotland, Italy, or Portugal. Really, I would be fine with a Pink book set in Antarctica as long as it was a new Pink book 🙂
Russia … hands down!
I can just imagine Miss Gwen toting her parasol through the Kremlin and everyone running around with big fur muffs and those muff-like fur hats … 🙂
Canada! I feel Canada is often erroneously seen as ‘less exciting’, so it would be fun to add some excitement there! Rome, Greece, Wales, or Egypt are also top picks!
Hmmm…My initial thought was Italy which could totally work what with Colin’s mom living in Italy part of the time. But having read some of the other responses I also like Austria, Russia, Egypt, and the US.
Vienna (Jane looks for support in a plot against Napoleon), Portugal (for obvious Napoleonic reasons), Bruges, in Belgium (because any place with canals is perfect for espionage), Italy (Jane is reason that Bonaparte’s brother-in-law, Caroline’s husband, betrays him)
Anywhere in the British Empire (the “pink bits” as my professor said in my Empire class, haha) – but I think the Caribbean Islands would be a pretty awesome setting.
The United States — provincial as they were. 🙂
I would love to see a book set during the Peninsular Wars, in Spain and Portugal, thought that didn’t happen until 1807.
Russia would be cool as well, however that was even later, in 1812, which was the same time for the American War of 1812, against the English, again.
North Africa: Morocco, Egypt, etc.
I vote for North Africa, as well. Very exotic and timely.
I think my top pick would have to be Italy
I would love to see them in Rome or Greece!!!!
Oh it must be Istanbul, so exotic, with the potential for so much intrigue!!!
I would like to see a bit of a tour around the mediteranean. Give the hero a good quest!
In a french colony – perhaps the caribbean. Somewhere where the french spys can come out and play again.
Australia–just because it’s so different from everywhere else!
I would like to see a Pink books et in Italy, as that’s my favorite place to go on vacation. My family travels often, and I fell in love with Italy the firs time I ever went there – and I was only four.
eloise once stated that the pink carnation went to the Phillipines. I would really like to see that!
I’d like to see what Jane does when the English and the French begin to fight in SPAIN!
I would love if one of the book’s settings was in Italy! My father’s side of the family lives there and the land is beautiful (Plus, a trip onto an active volcano could always make for an adventure).
Hong Kong or China or Istanbul would be great. Or perhaps a book about the Barbary pirates on the North African coast.
I agree with Sarah, Scotland!
I’ve always had a soft spot for Egypt, so I would love to see one set there or perhaps America. It would be interesting to see interaction between Brits and Americans during that time period. 1800s are a great time in American history too! Lots of interesting possibilities!
I’d have to say America. As soon as I read the question, I could not help picturing Miss Gwen meeting a bunch of Iroquois braves with her parasol in hand…Now there’s an image!
Russia would be fraught with danger but no one seems to ever go to Portugal-that would be interesting if there was a reason to go there. It would also be interesting to see British aristocrats in America. Spying here would be different I would think here than there.
I’d love to see the Pink Carnation in Russia, too. There’s always turmoil in Russia!
Either the American Colonies, since I believe they were called “wild” in Crimson Rose; or, Egypt, so perhaps there is a reason to bring Richard back into the story. swoon.
I love what some of the others have said about Venice, it really is a perfect spot for romance and adventure. Plus Lauren could play on the “Carnevale di Venezia” scene. That could be interesting!
I would like to see a pink book set in Wales!
I think the colonies would be VERY interesting. Bringing the books home, haha 🙂
At the court of Alexander I in Russia. America, or later (1814-1815) at the Congress of Vienna. Maybe Scotland or Egypt, Denmark, how about Gibralter, Martinique, Mauritius or the Netherlands. Or maybe Madrid on May 2, 1808.
I have to say, after years of reading Amelia Peabody mysteries, I would love to see what sort of spy-mischief you could cook up in Egypt.
Barring that, I would love to see maybe China. Or, to stay on the Continent, Rome.
I THINK THAT VENICE WOULD BE GREAT WITH ALL THE CANALS AND STREETS PLUS ITS VERY ROMANTIC AND PERFECT FOR A CARNATION BOOK
I would like to see intrique with another royal family. I would choose a small country like Luxembourg or Liechtenstein. The intrique could center around the idea of alliance and it could be the pink carnations task to make sure the country doesn’t choose the wrong side. She could meet the very likeable rogue from the last book there!
Great minds think alike! All my choices have been mentioned including New Orleans, the West Indies, Vienna, St. Petersberg, Spain, Scotland, and yes, even outer space. Maybe new chartacters will need be created to use all of the locations mentioned because they all sound good to me.
I would like to see the Pink Carnation in Spain during the Napoleonic Invasion. Madrid is such a beautiful and historic city; it would make a great setting for the next adventure.
Italy, particularly Florence. Beautiful and fraught with rich history.
Egypt. Egypt played a role in the first book, so I think it would be really interesting to see the series take a trip there.
Other interesting options would be Italy and/or Greece.
All three locations are full of history.
I’ll go with Spain. No particular reason for it. Just thought it would make for an interesting setting.
russia or italy would be fun
Perhaps in Derbyshire, at a little place called Pemberly…or at least in Lambton.
Come visit America! Virginia is lovely this time of year. And there’s so much tobacco!
Okay so I am so excited about this contest. I just learned about it and I’ve never won anything on this site, but this is so cool.
While I agree with the many previous readers that all of the previous locals are cool, but to really find good pink settings you have to think about which characters where.
First I love the idea of Brazil and Portugal and Spain
great idea, Georgia!
Second Eloise goes home to visit her relatives we meet the Kellys and finds out their pink ties to where ever she grew up, and then decides she’s proud to be An American, and that its just as good as being a Brit. (Honestly the way she acts that Colin and whoever wouldn’t like her for being American; makes me a little angry among other things if Colin didn’t like her because of that he would be a jerk.) (also Miss Gwen said “the wilds of America” I don’t think meant New York, Boston, Washington or Richmond, I think she met west of the Mississippi.)
Thirdly I would love to see the Middle East perhaps a prequel to the first pink book. the Purple Gentian in Egypt perhaps. Then as many of us have wondered whether Colin is a Brit. spy he goes off to middle East, and we finally get the answer. (oh, and for some reason the James Bond music is playing in my head, and Colin looks a little like a young Pierce Bronsnan).
Anyway final thoughts France is always nice I would love Amy to be able to go back maybe in between Napoleon’s first and second reign.
Italy if you could think of a reason to put the PC there it would be a great to chance to bring back Henrietta and Miles. hmmmm, maybe a nice Christmas story. Hen and Miles (1804) go to visit the Viscount and Viscountess Loring, when who should they bump into but Jane and Miss Gwen…….
same goes for Vienna
I can’t believe no one said Mexico. It was under French rule at the time. I could see the pink carnation helping resistace groups over throw the french regime.
Ravenna, Italy. I can see Miss Gwen in San Vitale scoffing at the mosaics!
i would LOVE to see jane in SPAIN in Barcelona or Madrid or on my own BEAUTIFUL country : MEXICO 😀
Italy, Egypt or the Caribbean. couldn’t resist the lure to add in some pirates. 😉
In early 19c Naples when Bonaparte’s brother was ruling the Kingdom! That’s a link to events in France that could be exploited plot-wise. Gotta love Naples, so much history and art and belle viste!!
where romance was apart of everyday society. its the home of some of the most famous composers that ever lived
I would love to see Jane in St. Petersburg, Russia or Venice, Italy. I can’t wait for the next book!
I’d love to see St. Petersburg or somewhere in the wild west of the USA 🙂
I would love to see them somewhere along the north African coast.
Spain and Morocco could always use a little more Pink.
I think Italy, Egypt, or Australia would be really cool. I personally would love to see Jane, Amy, and Miss Gwen trudging around in Egypt. Miss Gwen can finally get a mummy for her novel. lol
I’d love to see one in China – were the British in Hong Kong yet? I feel like Jane could get in some trouble in the Orient 🙂
Japan! How about a run in with geishas? I think that would be fun!
Egypt! Egyptian mysteries are so interesting.
I wouldn’t mind if it was set in Paris again . . . but new settings with major potential are Istanbul and Cairo.
How about Turkey or Spain?
I would have to say America. Spies could easily hide in America it is much closer than India and there is the Louisiana Purchase.
I would love to see a Pink book set in either Egypt or Greece! Both of these locations have such rich histories that might make a nice addition to the histories in the Pink books 🙂 (Although I’m not sure how historically accurate they would be …)
Morocco. Definitely Morocco. Close enough to the continent and sharing it’s seas to be relevant but worlds away in culture!!!
Venice! Or maybe America would be cool too. But I suppose the Brits and the Americans weren’t great buddies at the time….
I like europe. Maybe another one in France
I also like the idea of somewhere in Egypt. But I love the Sharpe books, and he was able to get into plenty of trouble in Portugal and Spain, so I’d love to see what Jane and company could do there too…
How about Austria or Prague? Though I do agree with Italy too.
My vote is Australia. Perhaps the French need to spring a dangerous person exiled there?
the Duchy of Courland
Japan. The country was just opening up to the west in the late 1800s, so there would be all sorts of interesting things for the characters to experience. Japan would still be in the process of westernizing; however, there would still be a lot of traditional culture that the west was not terribly aware of.
Italy…Sicily specifically. There is so much history, beautiful landscapes, mountains, etc. I could certainly see Jane taking a boat to Sicily in pursuit of someone.
China, anywhere in China. How cool would that be? I can totally see it.
One of the northern Greek islands, lots to do for intrepid spies there – maybe Lesvos?
[…] particular contest was inspired by a comment made by Kathleen (thanks, Kathleen!) during the last mini-contest, when she suggested a Pink book set in outer space. I couldn’t stop laughing over the concept […]
I think Scotland would be a great location for a Pink Carnation book. I have always dreamed of going there. And it would be awesome to read about men in skirts!(did men wear kilts in the 19th century??)P.S.: Love your books! =)
