Question & Contest
Hi, all! I made my way back from the big Romance Writers of America conference to find two things waiting for me– well, more than two things if you count all the new dustbunnies that had mysteriously accumulated in my apartment during my absence, but only two things relevant to this post. Those were: 1) a package from my publisher, containing three shiny cover flats for the paperback of The Temptation of Night Jasmine, and 2) an email asking me if I knew which Pink book was the most popular.
These two items seemed to go together in a very peanut butter and jelly-like way, leading to the following question:
Which is your favorite Pink book and why?
Three people, chosen via the highly sophisticated method of eeny meeny miney moe, will receive signed cover flats of Night Jasmine. Winners will be announced Monday, July 27th.
Let the Pink popularity contest begin!
My favorite of all the books has been the The Seduction of the Crimson Rose.
I love the Pink Carnation the most of all. Jane is my favorite character, and it was a great introduction into the world you’ve created.
Lauren, Lauren, Lauren… don’t you know it’s next to impossible to pick a fave? I’d have to say it’s a tie between Emerald Ring and Night Jasmine. Le sigh…
My favorite Pink Carnation book would most definitely be The Masque of the Black tulip. I think I identify with her personality the most of all the heroines. The book has an amazing plot and plenty of romance! Also, I find Miles to be the most attractive book character I’ve met in a while 🙂
I think I’m going to have to go back & read all of them so I can choose a fav
PS. That is a dreamy, swooning-over-the-books “le sigh…”
I have to say that my favorite book is The Seduction of the Crimson Rose – mostly because as much as I want to hate Lord Vaughn, I can’t help but love him…
I love them all! But my current favorite is the Night Jasmine. Hope we get to read Jane’s story soon!
Black Tulip for me as well…they seem to have the most natural chemistry for me 🙂
This is so hard. It would have to be a three way tie between Pink Carnation, Black Tulip or Crimson Rose.
It’s hard to pick a favourite but probably The…Pink Carnation. I read it and fell in love with it and had to read the others A.S.A.P.
obviously Pink Carnation drew me in to the rest of the series (which, at the time, was only two books!), I would say that my favorite is Black Tulip, as I identify the most with Henrietta!
My favorite is a tie between “Masque of the Black Tulip” and “Seduction of the Crimson Rose”… The stories of Miles & Hen, and Lord Vaughn & Mary are my two favorites so far…
While I identify most with Charlotte, The Seduction of the Crimson Rose is my favourite by far. I would say the reason is a combination of Mary’s snarkiness and Vaughn’s aloofness. They aren’t your typical hero and heroine, but they work so well together. Also who can resist an aloof man? Lizzy Bennet couldn’t! Plus this is the book we get the most resolution as to who The Black Tulip is.
It’s a draw between the Emerald Ring and the Crimson Rose. Guess I’ll have to go back and reread to find out 🙂
The Pink Carnation is my absolute favorite of the series. I couldn’t read it fast enough! The others were just icing on the cake… but I fell in love with the beginning story and I always think back on that one. 🙂
I love The Deception of the Emerald Ring; I can totally relate to Letty. And who can resist Ireland? 🙂
Hmmm….Crimson Rose, I believe. Vaughn is just so wonderfully snobbish!! Although Black Tulip is a close second.
hmm…it’s hard to choose between Charlotte and Henrietta but if I had to choose it would be The Masque of the Black Tulip. Henrietta makes me laugh but I identify with Charlotte a lot.
The Deception of the Emerald Ring! I’ve loved Geoff since this first book, and I absolutely loved Jane and Miss Gwen being the in story again. Letty was wonderful, too.
First let me just say I love all of the books! But I think my favorite so far is The Masque of the Black Tulip. There is just something about the way Hen and Miles banter on and on together that I just adore! I think they are seriously the newest additions to my favorite couples in literature. <3
While I identify best with Hen, my favourite Pink book remains the Secret History of the Pink Carnation. Amy has the potential to be extremely irritating, but she’s so innocent and her intentions are so good that you can’t help but like her. The relationship between her and Richard is both touching and humourous and, of course, very romantic. The Masque of the Black Tulip is a very close second, because I love Hen and Miles!
The Seduction of the Crimson Rose.
I loved the characters and the story.
Pink Carnation is not far behind.
I’d have to say my favorite is the Masque of the Black Tulip.
Number one reason is that it just has the most laugh-out-loud moments.
Number two the chemistry with Colin and Eloise is really starting to build.
Number Three: Nothing is better than a chase scene with an overturned cabbage cart!
And lastly, Number 4: Turnip just cracks me up and his role in the climatic capture of the Marquess is to die for. I’m waiting on a Turnip book.
I have to say that most days my favorite is Emerald Ring, but I love Crimson Rose too! Maybe there is just something about the Alsworthy girls!
My favourite has to be The Seduction of the Crimson Rose. I love the fresh take on characters from The Deception of the Emerald Ring- Letty and Geoffrey are made to seem almost insipid, and Mary evolves from someone I would love to hate to someone I grudgingly liked. And of course, Lord Vaughn is my favourite Carnation hero! I love the way the two protagonists fall in love almost despite their natures.
“Crimson Rose.” Vaughn is such a great character, he really makes the book, and Mary is his perfect foil. The characters (Black Tulip, Lady Vaughn), mysterious situations and locations (Vauxhall) came together beautifully.
I’ve enjoyed all the books and have listened to them twice on CD (Kate Reading!).
At the moment, The Deception of the Emerald Ring is my favorite (which was why I brought it to be signed, I’m still very excited about getting to meet you there). I really enjoyed watching Letty find her way into the Pink Carnation world, and get to interact with Jane and Miss Gwen.
Black Tulip for sure. I think it’s because I relate to Henrietta the most, but also because Miles to me is the most realistic male character you have (well. except Colin)
plus their chemistry is HOT.
But it’s not just the main two characters, Penelope and Charlotte as well as Geoff and Vaughn and even Turnip make the book what it is.
I like Henrietta an awful lot, and my first instinct is to vote Black Tulip. However, it’s even more fun to come back to Pink Carnation. It’s the book that begins everything and sets up the world of the spies. So much action and questions ahead.
My favorite book is Deception of the Emerald Ring. From the beginning of the story I was sucked in and it didn’t end until I finished the book…then I had to go purchase all the ones leading up to it! I’ve also truly enjoyed the antics of Eloise as she pursues her dream & Colin. Bring on the next book!
I have to go with Pink Carnation (aka the first). And I look at it this way — if I end up on that theoretical desert island where I can only have X amount of books, to get my Lauren Willig fix, the first one helps, because of who we have in it. Yep, I would miss my copies of Emerald Ring and Black Tulip because of who’s the focus, and then comes the other two next up. . . but at least to get a fix with a lot of people, the first one works. Besides, it started it all right, can’t have the rest without the first! 🙂
Oooh, I loved the Secret History of the Pink Carnation the most. I loved getting drawn into the series and being surprised with the twists and turns of Eloise as well as the historical characters. I like the other ones too, but the first is the best!!!
My favorite has to be The Masque of the Black Tulip. This is mainly due to the fact that I want Miles so much… Oooh, I love him ;D
The Black Tulip no doubt! I love love Hen and Miles. They are my favorite part of every book! That being said, I am addicted to the series and am counting the days until Blood Lilly is out, even if it means it’s the dead of winter!
At this point my favorite is the Seduction of the Crimson Rose. I wanted Lord Vaughn to be so much more than a self-centered snob and VOILA! I didn’t really like Mary but even the pretty older sister has issues even though they might not show it. It was a refreshing storyline that kept us from getting too soppy, if you know what I mean.
My favorite book in the series is the first one, The History of The Pink Carnation. I picked it up one evening in December 2006 while I was out having some “me” time. (I am a SAHM). I started reading that night and about 100 pages in, I had to run out and get Black Tulip and Emerald Ring, screaming kids and all!!! I was and still am hooked! I just love Jane.
Before I begin, I should state, I LOVE all the books. However my least favorite book was The Night Jasmine, solely due to the fact that there was little mention of the Pink Carnation. Although I am certain that there is good reason for that. That fact aside, it is hard to pick out one particular book over the other. So I suppose I would have to say that the first book is my favorite, because it is the first and it is the one that got me hooked (which I used to get my friends hooked too).
I have a hard time choosing between “The Masque of the Black Tulip or “The Seduction of the Crimson Rose,” but for this question’s sake I’m going to have to go with “The Masque of the Black Tulip.” Oh, Miles. Miles, Miles, Miles. 😀
By far the Deception of the Emerald Ring wins for me. I love everything about it. I love the idea that fate brought Letty and Geoff together even though they didn’t know they were perfect for each other. I love seeing Jane and Miss Gwen in action. I love Ireland and a potential uprising. The book was really great.
Favorite of all? For me it’s hands down, “The Seduction of the Crimson Rose”. The character of Vaughn is…(*sigh*)…sublime. And the repartee between him and Mary is absolute perfection.
If I had to pick a favorite, it’d be… the one I read last 🙂 Seriously, I guess it’d be the Black Tulip, because I like Miles and Henrietta as a couple – but reading all these comments, I see I have to go and reread all of them to make an informed decision – yay!
The first one I read was “The Masque of the Black Tulip” which got me hooked on the series =)
I really loved “The Seduction of the Crimson Rose” with the revelations about Vaughn’s character.
As I read them out of sequence I have a great excuse to go back and re-read them all!
Gosh how awful to have to pick only one! Hahaha, well I love the first Pink because it got me hooked on this great series…there are things I love about each one, and I love all the characters dearly. I have really enjoyed getting to know each one a little better as the books keep coming. But I guess if I have to pick just one, it would be Black Tulip. It’s just hilarious, and just leaves you feeling so happy.
Lauren, make sure you keep them coming!
Okay I love all of them so much but if you’re forcing me down to my top favorite book I would have to say… the Crimson Rose because it made me a Vaughn fangirl <3
The Masque of the Black Tulip is probably my favorite at this point. It is one of the books I read when I need a pick me up. Love the relationship between miles and Hen. Temptation of the night jasmine has the potential move into first, but I’ll have to see how often I reread it.
I loved the “The Deception of the Emerald Ring”. I really enjoy Geoff as a hero once he figures things out.
The Masque of the Black Tulip is my favorite! Miles is totally swoonworthy but Henrietta is my favorite heroine. She is wonderfully flawed and has a great sense of humor.
The Deception of the Emerald Ring
Letty holds a special place in my heart because of the insecurities she feels in her relationship with Geoff. Even after he starts falling in love with her, she can’t see it because she’s so wrapped up in thinking that he hates her for tricking him. As someone who struggles with insecurity, I have a weak spot for female characters who work through theirs and come out better for it.
Of course the first book is wonderful because it’s the first, and Charlotte is wonderful because she’s a bookworm, and there’s something to be said about the loud, confident characters like Amy or Miles. But Letty and Geoff are each so unsure of the other that it makes their eventual connect that much sweeter.
Hmmm, It’s a toss-up between Pink Carnation and Black Tulip, but I enjoyed Black Tulip a *teeny* bit more, so I’ll go with that one as my fav. 😀
My favorite would have to be the Masque of the Black Tulip, I love both Hen and Miles, their chemistry is fantastic and the humor of their encounters had me giggling throughout the whole book. Also the scenes between Eloise and Colin are wonderful, all sparring wits and almost kisses.
I am almost exactly like Charlotte; which is probably why The Pink Carnation is my favorite! It’s so epic, I love it. Amy and Richard’s relationship is my favorite, not to mention this is the book with the most Pimpernel allusions-who doesn’t love Percy?! (Well, besides the obvious answer of the French, but they don’t count!)
I love the original Pink Carnation! i love Amy and Richard, wish we saw more of them and less of Hen and Miles. Hen becomes irritating after she marries. (Real problem: she bosses here friends around the same way mine boss me, because they’ve had more boyfriends, etc.) I also love the original concept. I am hoping Amy and Richard will turn up in India. I do love Jane and am excited to see more of her. In book 7. I also like France in 1803, versus England, because books 1803 england are way more common.
I also love Mary Alsworthy hence Crimson Rose. A lot of people seem to like her against themselves, but I loved her almost from the word go. I am a private person, or try to be. Mary is private and no one knows how she really feels. I am also a pragmitist, like Mary and in the earlier I did not blame her for facing the reality that her one hope in life was to get married. I like that we saw warmth in her, and that she kept her pride and dignity. Most of all I guess, I loved her seriousness after some of the previous silliness.
So can I have two tie between I and IV?
“The Seduction of the Crimson Rose” does it for me. I adore Vaughn in Pink II & III, and I just adore him even more in his own book. He is my favorite out of all of your characters. Like Rhett, he’s so not your typical hero and that *really* draws me in.
But I do love the series as a whole and really any of the books could be a “best of”.
That is indeed a very difficult question… however, i do believe that i enjoyed emerald ring the best, for i like the fact that the characters seemed a bit more flawed… i cant explain why, i just really loved it! but in a tie for second would have to be pink carnation and black tulip… but i love all of them sooo much! i cant wait for blood lily!!!
I can’t decide between Black Tulip and Emerald Ring. I love those stories (and couples). I liked having more of Jane in each book too. I hope she gets a story next.
I love them all and can’t wait for Blood Lily! But I think my favorites are the Emerald Ring and the Crimson Rose!
To pick a favorite? Oh dear, I don’t believe I could only pick one. But my TWO favorite would be Pink I and Pink V. The first, obviously, because it introduced me to the wonderful world of Pink. However, V holds a special place in my heart, because I not only read it on my honeymoon (much to my husband’s dismay :-), but I can relate to Charlotte the best out of any Pink characters. Her fascinating imagination and her absolute love for reading describe me to a T. Thanks so much for ALL of the Pink books!
I dont think its possible to pick a favorite! they’re all so fabulous. If i HAD to choose I think it would be the Black Tulip. I adore Hen and Miles!
Hard question… I do really love the original “Pink Carnation;” I would say it has had the most time logged over all of the books, and really was a fantastic way to set up the world. (Plus, I absolutely adore the Colin/Eloise scene in the kitchen and think it’s one of, if not the best, Colin/Eloise scene in the entire series … so far.)
That being said, I have to throw my ultimate vote behind “Crimson Rose” because of Lord Vaughn. The book had a leg up because out of all of the books and pairings, Letty/Geoff are my least favorite, so it was nice to see that their personalities grated on others as well! Most mostly, Lord Vaughn, who reminds me of so many of my other favorite characters of fiction (Snape, Sherlock Holmes, and Francis Crawford for starters) and who, although not “nice,” can still be a good man. And one who quotes a lot. 😉
I love the Black Tulip. I can’t help it. Miles is my favourite.
Black Tulip. I love Miles and Hen the best. Their banter shows how much they really care for each other.
Temptation of the Night Jasmine is my favorite! I think I relate most to Charlotte and I love how her character evolves throughout the story. Although Miles is my favorite hero, so I’d say my second favorite is Black Tulip.
Besides the fact that I love all of them, my favorite would have to The Masque of the Black Tulip. Miles and Hen are a great couple and Hen is a delighful read. I also adored Letty and Geoff in the Deception of the Emerald Ring. That would have to be my next favorite.
Oh to pick one is so very very hard. I too love all of the books and will be on pins and needles until The Betrayal of the Blood Lily comes out in January 2010. I must go with two The Secret History of the Pick Carnation and The Deception of the Emerald Ring. I am so glad you are writing these books. Thank you.
I would have to vote for Masque of Black Tulip, because I have a soft spot for Miles and Hen, and it has a great love scene(btw–why did you stop writing love scenes after Emerald Ring?).
I think my favorite would have to be Temptation of the Night Jasmine. I just love how Charlotte can relate everything to a book! And I love Robert, too!
BLACK TULIP!!! it is my most favorite book!! i have read the paperback so much that the poor book is all torn up!! the chemistry between henrietta and miles is amazing and i just love their scenes together, not to mention the eloise/colin scenes also (ghost on bed allusion).. 😀
Crimson Rose. Love Sebastian!!
We are all so lucky to have so many books to be able to choose a favorite! Pink Carnation is my absolute favorite. Richard is so dashing, and Amy is so fun and bouncy. The Christmas Novella really solidified my love for Richard and Amy, and I hadn’t realized how much I had actually missed them! While I like Eloise and Colin together, I really enjoy reading their banter back and forth when they still don’t like each other very much.
My favorite is Pink Carnation. One of my all-time faves is The Scarlet Pimpernel and Carnation gave me more fuel for my fever. Plus, I was reading it as I was traveling throughout France, and it was still hard to put down! Thanks Lauren! I hope you keep writing forever! 🙂
AH! So hard to choose! I love them all! I think my favorite though was The Secret History of the Pink Carnation. It was the 1st and you can’t forget your 1st love! teehee. I stumbled across it in the college bookstore and had no idea what wonders to expect. It drew me in and I couldn’t escape. Amy happens to be the name of my own little sister and that just made it so much better. Plus, I think I relate the most to her. But I love them all and if you would pick me if would end my suffering of waiting for the paperback version of Night Jasmine to come out(since I’m very poor and that’s all I can afford).
I have only read the first 4 books so far but the one I always am going back to read again would be The Masque of the Black Tulip. It’s definately a favorite! The characters are so sweet and I love how the relatonship grows. A love of a lifetime! I would also agree with a comment above that Miles has to be the most attractive book character 🙂
Definitely Masque of Black Tulip…love Hen and Miles!! After that:
2. Pink Carnation
3. Crimson Rose
4. Emerald Ring
5. Night Jasmine
but love the series as a whole. Alex in Blood Lily sounds amazing so far!!
I have to say The Secret History of the Pink Carnation. It was the one that I refused to leave the apartment until I finished it (in less than 24 hours of course :p), and it is also the one that I keep going back to. I just love Amy and her impulsiveness. The chemistry between her and Richard had me hooked. I was so glad I already had the Black Tulip.
My favorite Pink book is “The Seduction of the Crimson Rose” because the chemistry between Vaughn and Mary is absolutely smoldering. And I love when Colin and Eloise go out on their “date” and finally connect with one another!
My favorite book in the series thus far would have to be Crimson Rose. I enjoy the insight into Vaughn and the depth that Mary gets in it. It was fun to discover her personality and character throughout that book …
Also I was totally pleased that Eloise and Colin finally had their date!
I have to agree with everyone on The Masque of the Black Tulip as my favorite! 😀 I loved Miles and Henrietta as a couple! But 2nd best is Charlotte and Richard 😀
But Eloise and Colin are also my favorite! Can’t wait for The Betrayal of the Blood Lily 😀
I’ve only really had the great pleasure of reading I-IV (I’m forced to save my extra-curricular reading for semester/work breaks so I’ve yet to get my hands on Night Jasmine) but I definitely adore Black Tulip – I love the relationship between Hen and Miles, so cute and exciting to read!
I have to go with Black Tulip out of loyalty to Hen and Miles. They are by far my favorite characters.
The Deception of the Emerald Ring is the one book out of the series that I’ve read more than four times. I love the adventure Letty and Geoffry go on and how he comes to love her.
Without a doubt- it would be Seduction of the Crimson Rose.
I was surprised when I thought about it at first- because Miles and Hen are my absolute favorite characters, but i adore the way you took two characters with qualities which are not often used as an identifiable hero-type, and made us like them! hurrah!
Not to mention the brilliant way we got to look at all our other beloved spies through the eyes of Mary Alsworthy. That was fantastic.
I never given it much thought, since I have enjoyed them all, but if I had to choose it would be the first one, The Secret history of the Pink Carnation.
For me it is a tie between Black Tulip and Emerald Ring – I love the characters and the banter in both. But really, it is like trying to pick a favorite flavor of cheesecake – they are all decadent and sumptuous and no one should be made to choose!
My favorite Pink Carnation book is definitely The Masque of the Black Tulip. Hen was an amazing character, and her courage, patience and love for her sister and family was remarkable. I couldn’t put the book down, and when I had to (you know, to do adult stuff), I would constantly be thinking about it. I love this novel because of the story line, suspense, and amazing ending. 🙂
Although I too love all the books, my favorite is Emerald Ring. Like others, I identified with Charlotte, but I was so impressed by everything about the book. It was the first of the series I “read” – I put that in quotes because actually I’ve not read but listened to them all on CD. Although Justine Eyre did a great job on Night Jasmine, I think Kate Reading’s interpretations of the various characters are fantastic. I was so impressed with everything about Emerald Ring – plotting, characterizations, historical details – that I immediately went back and “read” Pink Carnation. I still have all of the recordings and occasionally I have a “Willig-fest” and re-listen to all of them in order. But all things considered, I still have a special fondness for Geoff and Letty, their rented love nest, and the almost Keystone Kops wackiness of the exploding warehouse and the runaway wagon. One of the things I love most about all of the books is the sense of humor, which may be why people compare you to Jane Austen so often.
And I wait anxiously for every new installment. I’m really looking forward to the change of venue; India is a (probably) natural and wonderful choice for moving on with the story line.
OK, I totally typed the wrong book. I meant “The Deception of the Emerald Ring”! My apologies! Letty was the character I meant to type. I knew I wasn’t thinking of the right character/book as I was typing it…
I swear I am a big fan of your novels…how embarrassing…
I love the Emerald Ring! Lettie and Geoff are perfect together.
I love the new one, The Betrayal of the Blood Lily. Great composition, color and a beautiful painting.
I’d have to say that Emerald Ring is my favorite. I just think Letty and Geoff are perfect together and she’s such a lovable character. I think she kind of reminds me of me.
A close second is Black Tulip – Hen and Miles are characters that are super fun to read.
I love each book. But when it comes down to it, i always go back to Black Tulip. I just love Hen and Miles as a couple and as individuals. It’s just such a classic love story – girl falls in love with older brother’s best friend (who hasn’t had a crush on at least one of their brothers’ friends) And Miles is just my favorite guy, aside from Colin of course. But Emerald Ring is a close second because I relate more to Letty and just love her and Georff’s story as well.
Although each Pink book I read becomes my new favorite, I have a great affection for Pink I. It’s the one that introduced me to Lauren’s wonderful world of spys and romance — and boy what romance in that book…The Emerald Ring is also a favorite. Loved the interaction, first ugly then charming, between Letty and Geoff. Always looking forward to what’s next for Colin and Eloise.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in the series and I am having a hard time picking just one as my favorite. If forced to pick just one, then my favorite is “The Masque of the Black Tulip.” Of all the historical characters, Miles and Henrietta are my favorites, besides Jane of course. So naturally, I would pick that book that focuses on them as my favorite.
I am counting the days until January!
“The Deception of the Emerald Ring” is my favorite due to the wonderful Letty and the hilarious date Eloise goes on.
Mine would have to be “The Deception of the Emerald Ring” as well. Geoff and Letty are among my favorite characters and are definitely the ones I identify with most. They seem to be the most real and down-to-earth characters, and I love the evolution of their relationship throughout the book. Not to mention the presence of Jane and the always-amusing Miss Gwen! And I LOVE Geoff and Letty’s scene at the end of the book…*sigh*
Geoff is my favorite of the Pink men thus far – although Lord Vaughn is completely awesome in theory, with all his panache and witticisms, I would much prefer Geoff in real life, being of the rather low-key and bookish persuasion myself.
My favourite Pink character is Henrietta, and in fact my best friend sometimes calls me “Hen” when I am acting particularly Hen-ny. She is feminine but intelligent, and she comes in concert with Miles, whom I appreciate for his looming and his love of ginger biscuits (My “Miles” always turns up his nose at ginger biscuits, no matter how hard I try). I like Black Tulip the best (so far! can’t wait for Blood Lily!) because it is the book that really gets the plot arc moving and propels me, as the reader, forward in to the following books: the mysterious Black Tulip becomes more prominent; and I didn’t get the impression in Pink Carnation that the plot arc and the characters would have so much depth. For me, reading Pink Carnation was an opportunity to meet a few characters and get used to the story’s landscape, but picking up Black Tulip, even for the first time, was like putting on a familiar and comfortable glove.
It’s a tie between The Masque of the Black Tulip and The Seduction of the Crimson Rose. I really enjoyed following the story line of the Black Tulip, and Miles and Hen are my two favorite characters so far. I can’t wait for the new book to come out! Keep up the good work, Lauren. 🙂
I am gonna go with, since you put a gun to my head, Black Tulip. I have always loved the idea of falling in love with someone you’ve known your whole life.
My favorite is Pink Carnation, simply because I just happened to see it in the bookstore, picked it up, and fell in love with the characters! Plus, as a history student myself, it was fun and funny to read about the research process myself!
Black Tulip is my favorite. Hen and Miles are such a wonderfully entertaining couple!
For me, Emerald Ring! I loved the how Letty ang Geoff stumbled into love, how they slowly realized they had been in love from a distance for a long time! And I loved the writing style used in the book–all of that simile and metaphor! Who knows for sure, but it’s definitely my favorite (followed very closely by Crimson Rose–Vaughn is so mysterious in both books, and the contrast of the sisters is terrific)!
My favorite.. that’s tough, but I’d have to say The Masque of the Black Tulip. I love the story between hen and miles. Everyone knew it was going to happen but Miles and Hen. I also like how the story between Eloise and Collin develops. I really just like the entire storyline.
Definitely Black Tulip. Hen and Miles are the best.
Pink is my favorite- mostly because I tend to like the first book in a series best. However, the story lines are still just as good as ever. Black Tulip would have to be my second fav. because Miles is so clueless sometimes. He makes me smile.
My favorite book was definitely “Deception of the Emerald Ring”. I identified most with Letty – I could relate to her personality easily. I also loved how the story ended up playing out in terms of Letty and Geoff’s relationship. I have re-read this book so many times!
I have to say that my favorite book by far is Black Tulip because of Henrietta. She is the coolest-I could really relate to her. I also loved how she captured the Marquise de Montval, as well as Miles’ utter cluelessness. It just makes me chuckle.
My favorite is The Deception of the Emerald Ring. Geoffrey and Letty are my absolute favorite couple. I have read that one more times than I dare tell people. =D
I love them all but the first Pink Carnation holds a special place in my heart because it introduces us to a new landscape – the intrigues and intricacies of the Pink Carnation.
Black Tulip! I LOVED the chemistry between Miles and Hen in Pink Carnation so to have a whole book full of their foibles was delightful! Oh and the diamond hairpins worn by the villainess, I most definitely need a set of those!
