In other words, Pink V has a cover!

Covers are always a game of roulette– we’ve all heard the horror story about the three armed maiden on one of Christina Dodd’s early covers– but I’ve been exceptionally lucky with mine so far. No mullets, no bulging thews, no women busting out of their bodices, no extraneous limbs. In this case, I lucked out even more than usual, since the woman in the painting looks very much as I imagine Charlotte.

Of course, the disclaimer is that the cover may still be tinkered with a bit before it goes to press. That happened with Crimson Rose, where those of you who own the book may have noticed that the images on line, including the one on this website, differ slightly from the one on your bookshelf. (I probably should get around to fixing that one of these days.) But while the lettering may move around a bit, the Pink V cover should wind up looking mostly as you see it here.

1st time posting! the cover was so pretty…im anxiously waiting for it to come out. By the way there was a previous post on the casting of Vaughn and I must say that he is very difficult to cast, but then again Richard also is, anyhow of the 4 books Geoff was easiest to cast for me…James McVoy. I can really picture him mad/curiously attracted to Letty at their wedding.
    When is PinkV coming out?

Hi, Ariana! Thanks for popping by! Pink V will be coming out in February of 2009, so we still have a bit to go yet– but I’ll be posting the first chapter on the website later this month.

I was just watching “The Princess Bride” last night (even though I’ve seen it a zillion times, I can still never resist it when it comes on tv), and was thinking that Cary Elwes as Westley really does have a very Richard-ish air about him…. Or do I mean that Richard has a Westley-ish air?

  8. Beth on June 7, 2008 at 7:18 am

I do have to agree that it looks like the Charlotte that I had pictured too!

  9. Camille la Flamme on June 7, 2008 at 1:38 pm

She looks the way I imagine Georgiana Darcy to be.

OK, I have to ask about the Christina Dodd cover … even though I may be the only one who hasn’t heard about it 🙂

    I can’t believe I missed three armed maidens …

I imagined Stuart Townsend (a slightly older version of his Dorian Grey performance) as Vaughn. He has a brooding, yet attractive quality- by far my favourite hero of the series!

I got it in the mail yesterday and LOVE it!!!
