Teaser Tuesday: Pink XI

You know how I said over in the FAQs that we were going to be finishing up the series with Pink XI with Jane’s book?

This is exactly why it also says in the FAQs that when I say these things, you should take it with a grain of salt. Or great gobs of salt.

The original plan was to have Jane’s book follow immediately after Miss Gwen’s book, The Passion of the Purple Plumeria (coming to a bookstore near you August 6th!). But….

(You knew there was going to be a “but” there, right?)

The timing just didn’t work. Miss Gwen’s book is set in 1805. Jane’s book, for very specific historical reasons, needs to take place in November of 1807. That’s quite a gap. Not to mention that Eloise and Colin’s story still has some twists left in it.

The bad news? You’re going to have to wait an extra year for Jane’s book.

The good news? There will be twelve Pink books instead of eleven. (For symmetry’s sake, there’s something to be said for the rounder number.)

As for the new heroine of Pink XI….

Wouldn’t you know it, just as I was contemplating these pacing problems, Sally Fitzhugh flounced onto my computer screen and announced that it was really quite time that she had a book of her own. Because if Turnip has one, clearly, she deserves one, too.

When we bump into Sally in the autumn of 1806, she’s been on the marriage market for a couple of years already, and is more than ready for a little mischief.

More about Pink XI soon!

For me, this is nothing but GOOD news! What could be better than the lovely young ladies of Miss Climpson’s making an encore? And, perhaps a revisit by the formidible dowager Duchess of Dovedale? Bring it on….

Good news to start off my day! Let’s hope the rest of today is just as great! I can’t wait to read about Sally and maybe see a little of Turnip and Arabella! 🙂

Yes, yes, yes, yes! *dancing all around the room*

You’ve been talking about Sally for some time now and I’m glad to see that instead of a Christmas novella, she gets to have a whole book, Colin and Eloise and all!!
Now, there will just be Kat and Tommy’s book missing! And who knows what can happen!! *eyes fluttering*

  4. Julie H on January 29, 2013 at 10:42 am

    Yay! That’s very good news!

  5. Bree on January 29, 2013 at 11:27 am

Yay! I always thought Sally stole every scene she was in, so it’s awesome that she’s getting her own book.

OMG, I have died and gone to Pink heaven. I’ve been badgering you about Sally getting a book it seems like forever. A glass of champagne is definitely called for this evening to celebrate.

Yippee!! Excellent news. (Going off to see what happens in 1807 which means Jane’s book has to be set in November of that year…) You’re going to have your work cut out, aren’t you, with that other 1900s book you were telling us about the other week as well as Sally’s book? I hope we see more of Turnip (since he’s her brother); I’ve got very fond of him.

Napolean move troops into Spain in the autumn 1807, I think this might be where Jane ends up and is assisited/rescued by Jack Reid.
      Just saying.

I agree VERY good news! I quite enjoyed Sally in the Mistole book! But I don’t want the series to end!! More salt!!

  12. Ellen on January 29, 2013 at 1:42 pm

  15. Dara on January 29, 2013 at 2:25 pm

I do hope we are going to go back to India at some point and find out what is going on with Jack and our Flowery friends there. *makes irresistible poppy face* there really is no need for all of this fun to end.

  16. Susan Shaw on January 29, 2013 at 2:33 pm

Yay! Too much fun still to be had! I am sure there will be heroines ready to continue to fight the good fights, and find a hero in the bargain;-))

  17. leslie on January 29, 2013 at 2:46 pm

1807….Hmm, East India Company? Slave Trade Act? Battle of Copenhagen? I can’t see where you’re going, but I bet it will be good.

  18. Sheila on January 29, 2013 at 2:46 pm

Yes, indeed, more Pink is great news, although I agree we need more of dashing Jack Reid, and also Tommy and Kat have been sooooo patient.

Thanks for this wonderful news !

  19. MelissaW on January 29, 2013 at 3:02 pm

YAY!!! Turnip did say Sally was more dangerous to the French than they were to her 🙂

I hope Turnip and Arabella make a cameo or two (can they have a baby, because Turnip as a daddy would be hysterical)

  20. Jenna on January 29, 2013 at 3:06 pm

I’m so excited to hear there will be 12 books! I wish they would go on forever. And I’m hoping for some updates turnip and Arabella! On of my favorite couples!

  21. Tessa on January 29, 2013 at 5:55 pm

Yes! Of course Sally needs her own book. She is so feisty, that one. And then we can have more Turnip as well!

  22. Sarah on January 29, 2013 at 6:48 pm

More Pink books can only be the best of news! And Sally should be just as much fun to read about as Turnip!
(I’m also holding out hope that Kat and Tommy’s story will make it since I really want to see Tommy get his happy ending.)

  23. Andrea on January 29, 2013 at 6:49 pm

    Huzzah!

  24. Elizabeth (aka Miss Eliza) on January 29, 2013 at 7:07 pm

  26. Sue Krekeler on January 29, 2013 at 11:12 pm

I was kind of hoping the series would go on forever. What will I look forward to when it’s gone?

  27. Vanessa on January 29, 2013 at 11:40 pm

    Hooray for more Pink Books!

  28. Céline on January 30, 2013 at 7:51 am

Now, the question that I’ve been asking myself since yesterday is: who will be her hero?
I’m really curious about the HE who is going to tame our beloved Sally! 🙂
Any guess, anybody, before Lauren reveals his identity?

  29. Alexa J on January 30, 2013 at 9:28 am

Fantastic news, Lauren! I just reread The Mischief of the Mistletoe and enjoyed Sally’s scenes even more on my 3rd reading. 🙂

  30. Jane B. on January 30, 2013 at 5:15 pm

Hurrah! And I second the request that we go back to India at some point.
