Weekly Reading Round-Up
There’s nothing like finding a new (to you) author whose voice you love. This week, I devoured the second book in Lucy Parker’s London Celebrity contemporary romance series, Pretty Face— and immediately ordered Book Three. Now there’s incentive for me to finish the chapter I’m working on, so I can use the rest of my airplane time to read!
In the “old favorite series” category, I also gobbled up the most recent of Ben Aaronovitch’s paranormal Rivers of London books, Lies Sleeping. (If you haven’t read these yet, start with Book I, which is called Midnight Riot in the US and Rivers of London in the UK– and then read through them all. Because they are that good.)
What have you been reading this week? And what should I load on my Kindle in case of (further) flight delays?
See some of you at the Southwest Florida Reading Festival tomorrow….
I just finished my 2nd read of The Boy is Back by Meg Cabot and am working on Outlander.
I really enjoyed The Boy is Back!
I’ve been dying to read the Outlander series, especially since I watch it and absolutely love it.
i’m reading Gemma Halliday’s high heels mystery series (there are 9 of them along with a few short stories). They are light (very) cozy mysteries about a shoe designer in Los Angeles who helps her boyfriend (a homicide detective) solve various murders. Yes, I know it’s not at all realistic, but they’re a fun read.

Kate Morton! New to me. Just finished The Secret Keeper. Wow.
One of her best!
I’m in the middle of it right now and what a page turner! Of course, all Morton’s books that I’ve read are terrific so no surprise there.
I’m more than halfway through Bertrice Small’s Crown of Destiny, and I recently bought Susan Dennard’s Bloodwitch, the fourth in her Witchlands series, to read next.
