I am deeply excited to announce that this August will be a month-long That Summer read along!

Have you read That Summer? Do you have questions? Or have you been meaning to read That Summer and not gotten around to it yet? Have a friend or book club you think might enjoy the story?

Then join us for the That Summer read along, starting on August 1! There’ll be give aways and prizes, and, of course, much discussion of the book, which the New York Times Book Review calls “an involving mystery… with an intellectual glow”.

Here’s how it works:

All you have to do is “join” the That Summer Read Along event page on Facebook. I’ll let you know as soon as it goes live.

We have four amazing moderators– Christina (of Austenprose), Ashley (of The Bubblebath Reader), Miss Eliza (of Strange and Random Happenstance), and Céline.

Each Friday, one of our fearless moderators will post a brief summary of that week’s chapters, plus a bunch of discussion questions. Then it’s over to you to post comments, questions, or whatever else you like! I’ll be popping in to answer questions and join in the fun.

In addition to the other fun, there’ll be dream-casting for the various characters, behind the scenes snippets about the books, and weekly give aways, including special That Summer Read Along mugs, copies of The Mark of the Midnight Manzanilla, The Ashford Affair, and other bits and pieces, like Pre-Raphaelite postcards.

Here’s the chapter breakdown:

August 1-8: Chapters 1-7
August 9-15: Chapters 8-13
August 16-22: Chapters 14-20
August 23-29: Chapters 21-28

Side note: if this read along goes well, it is not out of the question that we might have a Pink Carnation read along later this year. Especially with Pink XII looming on the horizon!
